2,000 HP Ford GT Destroys The Old Texas Mile Record!

record

A Ford GT has broken the Texas Mile speed record, AGAIN! Yes, you’ve read it right as this is not the first time that this beast has taken the glory when it comes to Texas Mile. This M2K Motorsports GT reached stunning 278 mph over 1 mile from a standing point. That’s exactly what made this vehicle the fastest one ever to run at the biannual Texas speed fest. As we said before, the previous record was also set by this car (267.6 mph) in the hands of Hennessey Performance. Prior to that, Hennessey also set records  of 263.3 mph and 257.7 mph with the same car.

During its record run the Ford GT put out 2.000 HP- monstrous power compared to the 500 HP that a stock GT can produce. With all of the information above, we have to agree that the Texas Mile was the perfect place to unleash such a beast. The event took place on an airport runway in Beeville, Texas.

At the end, we are left wondering- How much faster can a Ford GT get?
