1937 Bugatti Atalante unveiled after 50 years – Sold for $4.5m

1937 Bugatti Atalante

The Bugatti 57S Atalante falls into one the rarest French sports coupes built by the Bugatti company. Only 43 (of 710 Type 57) were Type 57S.

This classic car gathered dust in a garage for almost 50 years. Harold Carr refused to listen to the offers for this 1937 Bugatti so, he locked it away. The first owner of the car was the first president of the British Racing Drivers’ Club. When Dr Carr died he left the contents of the lock – up garage to his family.

The Bugatti 57S is a highly appreciated and required by collectors. The Atalante is original but surely requires restoration.

This two-seated beauty is definitely worth seeing.
