10-speed Transmission Assembly
A four-speed transmission was once considered something of a luxury, but times have certainly changed. Ford’s $1.4 billion investment creates or retains 500 hourly jobs in Michigan at Livonia Transmission Plant to build a new 10-speed transmission to be first introduced in the all-new F-150 Raptor and certain F-150 models. This is the first time a transmission with a double-digit number of gears will be sold in a mass-market vehicle.

The new transmission which was co-developed with General Motors, will be paired with a second-generation version of the 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6. It’s expected to produce approximately 365 horsepower 450 lb-ft of torque.
